Milestones

 

2002
First opened the Port Centric operation on port at Felixstowe as a wetbond for Sainsburys wine promotions.

2003
Substantially increased the range of Sainsburys products handled through Felixstowe, whilst handled imported electrical and non food goods for Somerfield Stores PLC as well as maximised weight containers for Majestic Wines.

2005
Established a second Port Centric import operation at London Thamesport facilitating a C&E bonded warehouse with Hutchison Port Holdings for Gallo Wines; managing the scheduling, devanning and onward distribution direct to their Customers RDC's.
Supported Waverley Wines during the Buncefield crisis by providing a major C&E bonded relief operation at Colchester and Felixstowe.

2006
Further expansion with Sainsburys consolidating from 7 sites. Also committed to use BAP's Port Centric operation at Felixstowe as the primary General Merchandise import supply chain solution.

2007
Procured a 2 year contract with Sainsburys until September 2009 to further enhance the Port Centric model with then and again increased the volumes for the new GM operation.

2009 - 10
Sainsburys contract extended for a further two years until March 2011, handling all Home and Lifestyle ranges and will include clothing and online during 2010.
