Company History
We are a privately owned and operated business with a 30 year trading history who initially specialised in Primary Distribution:
1978 - 80
Established a 4 acre site in Colchester, concentrating on the devanning, warehousing and distribution of palletised food goods.
1990 - 95
Planned and continuous of expansion of warehousing in conjunction with Associated British Ports to meet projected growth targets in all business sectors.
1995
The establishment of an import warehousing and distribution for Somerfield Stores Ltd using BAP's growing network of import agents and suppliers.
Working with JS Sainsbury PLC; BAP pioneered the creation of a Primary Consolidation Centre where multiple suppliers were brought together to take advantage of consolidated loads delivered direct to RDC's seven days a week.
1998-02
BAP establishes the first HM Revenue and Customs bonded warehouse operation at Colchester for the storage of duty deferred Beers, Wines and Spirits. This lead to a peak of 1.5 million cases of Champagne held for the millenium campaign.
2002-10
Developed the Port Centric operation on port at Felixstowe initially as a wetbond for Sainsburys wine promotions, then significantly increased the range of Sainsburys products handled. We also handled imported electrical and non food goods for Somerfield Stores PLC as well as maximised weight containers for Majestic Wines. Recently signed new contracts with Sainsburys to increase the Port Centric further to include handling all Home and Lifestyle ranges and clothing and online by end of 2009.
